JAKARTA - The developer Obsidian Entertainment officially announced that its newest title, The Outer Worlds 2, a sequel to the award-winning science fiction RPG, will be released on October 29, 2025.
The game will take you to Romania, a new colony that is much bigger, messy, and full of conflict than Halcyon, the setting of its first game. This tackle promises a more complex and satirical RPG experience than ever before.
You will come as an Earth Directorate agent, but how the mission is carried out 'who is assisted, betrayed, or fully exploited' depends on your choice.
There will be three conflicting factions in this game, in order to fight for the future of mankind: The Protection, a military regime that believes that order is the highest form of comfort; Aunt's Choice, the result of a merger between Anuntie Cleo's and Spacer's Choice that combines pseudofreedom with extreme consumerism; as well as The Order of the Ascentant, a group of radical scientists who combine science with the belief in "Universary Equation".
You can also recruit six companion characters, each with a background, personal mission, and opinion on the player's decision. Interactions with companions not only affect the storyline, but will also be heard in faction radio broadcasts spread across Romania.
