Responding to the results of the Indonesia-US trade agreement regarding the national data rating, cybersecurity observers as well as the Chairman of the CISSReC Cyber Security Research Institute, Pratama Persadha reminded the government to uphold the principles of digital sovereignty.
Pratama said that the state has the right to regulate, protect, and ensure that digital activities, including the management of personal data of its citizens, are under national legal control, namely Law Number 27 of 2022 concerning the Protection of Personal Data.

"Cooperation with the US regarding the flow of data can actually be a positive trigger to accelerate the preparation of Government Regulations (PP PDP), as well as encourage the acceleration of the formation of an independent LPPDP," Pratama said in a statement on Thursday, July 24.
