Contribution Of Vivo And Smartfren Distribute Free Masks To Ward Off COVID-19

JAKARTA - Various steps have been taken to reduce the spread of the coronavirus or COVID-19, including using personal protective equipment. A number of smartphone vendors in Indonesia have also taken the initiative to assist the availability of medical equipment in handling COVID-19.

PT Vivo Mobile Indonesia through the Aksi Cepat Tanggap (ACT) organization provided assistance of 150,000 masks, to communities in several locations. The distribution of these masks is expected to help the government and society in reducing the rate of transmission of COVID-19.

"We understand that right now we are all in difficult conditions. We are trying to make a contribution to Indonesia that we hope can help alleviate all of us to face this time, "said Senior PR Manager of Vivo Indonesia, Tyas Rarasmurti in an official statement received by VOI.

Not only mask assistance, Vivo and the ACT team also distributed free masks to the elderly. Including informal workers who still have to work outside the home to meet their daily needs.

At least ACT has distributed 150,000 masks through the implementation team in the areas of DKI Jakarta, Bogor, Depok, Bekasi, Karawang, and Sukabumi.

On the other hand, telecommunication operator Smartfren helped prevent the spread of Covid-19 by producing and distributing masks as well as hand sanitizer. Smartfren also collaborated with a young creator from Bandung, doodle artist Addy Debil, in producing cloth masks.

With the theme #StaySafeAntiWasWas, Smartfren has distributed tens of thousands of unique cloth masks for free to the public to avoid the virus.

"Seeing the increasing scarcity of masks and the increasing number of COVID-19 sufferers, Smartfren took the initiative to produce cloth masks and distributed them free of charge to the public," said Chief Brand Officer of Smartfren, Roberto Saputra recently.

Roberto also added that the cloth masks distributed were three-layer masks that can be washed after use to keep them clean. This mask also has a unique doodle image, which is designed to have its own meaning.

He also hopes that with this free mask distribution program, there will be other parties who will also help, so that the spread of COVID-19 can be quickly completed.
