JAKARTA Google launched Gemini CLI, an open-source Artificial Intelligence (AI) agent that offers langsug capabilities to the developer terminal. This tool is designed to facilitate development.

Gemini CLI launched to meet the needs of developers who are increasingly dependent on terminals. This agent provides a direct path from user orders to Gemini models. This tool is reliable for mode purposes.

In addition, Gemini CLI also offers versatile utilities. Developers can use the various features in it to perform various tasks, ranging from content creation, problem solving, to research and task management.

One of the key features of this agent is Google's Gemini Code Assist integration. Thanks to this integration, developers with free, standard, and preferential packages will have the best command and AI-based coding experience.

To access Gemini CLI for free, developers can log in with personal Google accounts. After that, they will get a free Gemini Code Assist license. This license offers access to the Gemini 2.5 Pro with a context window of 1 million tokens.

Google also provides free previews for developers. With this preview, app developers can submit 60 model requests per minute and 1,000 requests per day. This preview is designed so that users rarely reach usage limits.

As a projection-source (Apache 2.0), Gemini CLI can assist developers in checking the code and contributing to its development. While using this agent, developers can reportbugs, suggest features, and send code fixes via GitHub's repository.
