WhatsApp Starts Wallpaper Making Feature Trial With AI

JAKARTA In May, it was revealed that WhatsApp was developing a platform for creating wallpaper chats based on Artificial Intelligence (AI). Now, WhatsApp is testing its features.

This new capability is seen in WhatsApp beta version 2.25.19.11 for Android devices. Reporting from the WABetaInfo report, this wallpaper maker feature with Meta AI support is available for some testers.

For registered testers, they can try their features by opening the desired chat room. After that, they only need to tap on the three-dot icon in the upper right corner, then select the Chat Theme menu.

Right in the first part, they will see the Create feature with AI. If tapped, users will be asked to enter the desired prompt until Meta AI produces multiple photos.

If the results don't match their wishes, WhatsApp beta testers can change them by pressing the Create Change button. After that, select the photo that is closest to the prompt, then use the AI-made photo as a wallpaper.

Users can choose to apply their wallpaper to certain conversations or to all channels. The resulting theme can also be applied to the channel that the user has.

It is not yet certain when this feature will be rolled out in a stable or extended version to all users. However, until now, the AI-based wallpaper creation feature has not been seen on the beta version of WhatsApp for iOS devices.
