JAKARTA - NTT DATA has just released its latest report entitled The AI Security Racing Act: From Risk to Innovation, which highlights AI's opportunities and risks in cybersecurity.
This research shows that 99 percent of the 1,500 C-Suite executives in 34 countries surveyed plan to continue investing in GenAI in the next two years. Even 67 percent of CEOs said they would commit massively.
NTT DATA also revealed that there is a big gap between the leadership vision and the team's ability in the field. Although 97 percent of Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) felt they were decision makers in terms of GenAI, 69 percent of them admitted that their team did not have enough skills to work with this technology.
In addition, only 38 percent of CISO stated that GenAI's strategy and cybersecurity in its company were in line "lower than the 51 percent of CEOs who said the same thing".
The problem is getting more complex because 72 percent of the organizations surveyed do not have formal policies regarding the use of GenAI.
In addition to internal problems, 88 percent of security leaders also said that the old infrastructure greatly affected business agility and readiness to adopt GenAI.
"When the organization adopts GenAI more quickly, cybersecurity must be an important part from the start so that the company's resilience is maintained," said NTT DATA Vice President and Global Head of Cybersecurity, Inc.
To overcome this challenge, 64 percent CISO chose to innovate with strategic IT partners rather than relying on self-standing AI solutions.

Interestingly, the main thing that comes to the consideration of security leaders when choosing the GeMAI technology partner is the ability of these providers to provide overall GenAI services from end to end (end-to-end).
"A safe and growing approach for GenAI requires alignment from the start, modern infrastructure, and trustworthy collaboration so that AI potential can be maximized while still protecting the company from threats," addedomel.
