JAKARTA US President Donald Trump extended the time limit for divestment rules against TikTok for three times. This extension received a positive response from the video platform.
In its official blog, TikTok appreciates the extension of Trump's deadline. According to him, the ban on the operation of TikTok in the US which has been postponed again is a form of support from the American leader.
"We are grateful for President Trump's leadership and support in ensuring that TikTok continues to be available to more than 170 million American users and 7.5 million US businesses that rely on the platform," TikTok said, quoted on Friday, June 20.
TikTok did not explain what kind of decision they would make to stay in the US over the next few years. The platform simply states that it continues to work with Vice President JD Vance over these divestment rules.

The executive order regarding the postponement of the TikTok divestment rules was signed by Trump on June 17, while the postponement took effect on June 19. This delay will mature in mid-September.
The White House admits that Trump does not want to block TikTok so that the time limit for this divestment rule continues to be extended. However, at this time of delay, TikTok will be pushed to reach an agreement as soon as possible.
"(for the next 90 days, the government will) ensure this deal is closed so that Americans can continue to use TikTok on guarantee that their data is safe and protected," White House Press Secretary Krypto Leavitt said, quoted by The Verge.
