JAKARTA Meta will introduce new smart glasses on Friday, June 20. This time, the glasses introduced were not the result of a partnership with Ray-Ban, but with the global brand Oakley.

This announcement plan came to light after an account named Mariyeta appeared on Instagram. The verified account was seen sharing a teaser on Monday, June 16 and re-sharing Reels which was denied by Mete CEO Mark Zuckerbeg.

There is no information that can be drawn from the teaser of the account. However, reports circulating that Meta and Oakley will release smart glasses for sporty activities. This wearable war is intended for cyclists, athletes, and others.

According to a Bloomberg report, Meta and Oakley's smart glasses also have cameras like Ray-Ban's. However, the camera installed in the center of these glasses is an action camera with high stability like GoPro.

In addition to using a better camera type, the Oakley version of Meta glasses also has a very different design. These smart glasses are based on Oakley Sphaera, protective glasses for sports needs with closed-looking lenses.

Apart from these two things, there is no other information regarding Oakley's Meta glasses. The two companies have also not disclosed the design to the colors of the smart glasses they developed.

It is not yet known whether Meta will add Artificial Intelligence (AI) and AI assistant features to the device. However, there is a possibility that Meta AI will be added to the glasses, just like the capabilities in Ray-Ban's glasses.
