JAKARTA NotebookLM is a sophisticated learning tool because there are many practical features in it that can be used for free. Unfortunately, this application has one big shortage.
Recently, Google announced the Chat Box feature to ask questions regarding uploaded material. NotebookLM will provide accurate answers, but the response takes a long time.
This is a shortcoming of NotebookLM. The language model takes quite a long time to respond. It could be a few seconds or even more than a minute, depending on the level of difficulty in the questions raised.
This application is also not like other big language models (LLM) because it displays answers at once after the system has found answers. In the latest update, NotebookLM now takes less time with the view of the answers being changed.
Simon Tokumine, Head of NotebookLM, stated that the application needed less time to provide answers because they switched to the Artificial Intelligence (AI) model. This model produces answers in the form of rows per row.

The impact will be more felt according to Simon. They managed to cut the waiting time by about 30 to 40 percent because NotebookLM will flow responses in real-time, not at once.
"Sometimes a small improvement in the quality of life that makes all the difference. Since NotebookLM switched to model thinking, we need more time to give you an answer," Simon wrote on his X account, quoted on Tuesday, May 27.
In addition to launching these changes, Google also provides more options to its users. They can choose shorter or longer Audio Summary, depending on their needs.
