JAKARTA Google introduced a new tool amid the development of a generalized use of Artificial Intelligence (AI). This tool is a Synthed Detector, a portal to detect and verify AI content.

The tool that can identify AI content is designed using AI so that it can work quickly and efficiently. The main goal of developing this tool is transparency in the rapidly growing generative media.

"When we launched Synthed, our goal was to provide a new set of technical solutions to help minimize misinformation and distribution errors," Google said in a statement, quoted on Thursday, May 22.

This AI detector capability has also been improved. From what was previously only able to detect AI-made images into image, text, audio, and even video-based AI content detectors.

Synthed Detector is capable of recognizing all content created by models AI Gemini, Imagen, Lyria, and Veo. So far, more than 10 billion AI content has been given transparent watermarks by Synthed.

Synthed Detector is still being developed and it is not yet known when it will be widely released. However, Google has created a waiting list for journalists, media professionals, and interested media to get early access to the feature.

After obtaining permission to try Synthed, users can already open the platform, then upload content suspected of being made by AI. Next, the system will detect if there is an AI watermark from Synthed. This detection portal will provide detailed results.
