JAKARTA The dispute between Epic Games and Apple has finally ended. This is marked by the return of Fortnite, Epic Games' video game app, to the iOS App Store for users in the US.
In a post on X, Fornite's official account says that the app is not only available on the iPhone, but also on the iPad. Users of both devices can search Fornite on the App Store search page and its app will appear at the top.
This is good news for Epic Games because its game app was removed from the App Store almost five years ago. This deletion occurred because Epic added a payment system to its app and Apple did not like the move.
According to Apple, Epic Games' actions violated Apple's rules so that this matter was brought to justice. Unfortunately, the main court is not in favor of Apple because the company must allow payment systems outside the app.
Apple is prohibited from charging fees from purchases made outside the App Store. After the decision was made, Epic submitted a peace proposal to bring Fortnite back to iOS in the US on May 9.
