JAKARTA At the 2025 Build Conference, Microsoft said that they will present a new translation feature in its Edge browser. Through this feature, users can translate languages in PDF.
This is an interesting feature because the average browser can translate the website, but not PDF. This happens because PDF will open up in the form of downloaded media, not a website that can be accessed directly in the browser.
These obstacles often make it difficult for browser users who are reading PDFs in foreign languages. For example, when users find interesting studies in foreign languages, they have to translate their study PDF files using third-party tools.
This will not happen again in the future because Microsoft promises a direct translation in PDF. In the future, users can translate documents in just a few clicks.

This method saves more time and of course saves costs. The reason is, some translation services can only be used if users subscribe. In fact, they only want to translate one PDF only.
Google Translate actually has a similar ability, but not as smart as Microsoft's idea. Users cannot access this feature directly from Chrome as Edge will offer.
Microsoft says that this translation capability will be available in several languages. For now, the feature is only available on Edge Canary. While still being tested, this feature is promised to be available to all Edge users.
The English, Chinese, Japanese, Arabic, and French versions are automatically generated by the AI. So there may still be inaccuracies in translating, please always see Indonesian as our main language. (system supported by DigitalSiber.id)
