JAKARTA - Google has confirmed that now more than 250 million cars on the highway have supported Android Auto. This is a significant increase of 50 million cars in the last year or so.

In May 2024, Google announced that Android Auto was available in more than 200 million vehicles, which came ten years after the platform was first launched. About a year later, now the number of vehicles supporting Android Auto has increased to more than 250 million.

In addition to the announcement regarding Gemini's presence on Android Auto, Google also mentioned that more than 50 car models are now using "Google built-in", namely Android Automotive which is already integrated with Google services.

Google explains: "Currently, there are more than 250 million cars that support Android Auto, and more than 50 car models that are equipped with Google built-in on the road. Whatever your choice of experience, we continue to bring the latest technology to make your journey more fun and productive. And the future of driving will be smarter with Gemini, an AI assistant from Google, who will soon be present in your car."

Of course, this number only includes cars compatible with Android Auto. Users may not use the platform, and most likely most of these cars also support Apple CarPlay.
