JAKARTA SpaceX managed to obtain a long-term license from the Federal Aviation Agency (FAA). Through this license, the company owned by Elon Musk will launch more per Starship in its year.
This license was issued by the FAA on May 6, 2025. Based on Space's report, the FAA has released its last Environmental Assessment (EA) on Starship operations on Starbase and granted SpaceX's request for an increase in the number of Starship launches by fivefold.
The company can now launch 25 Starships with two stages, namely a giant booster called Super Heavy and the top level which is only called Starship. This two-stage giant rocket can only be launched through the agreed area, namely Starbase.
"FAA has determined that modifying SpaceX vehicle operator licenses that support increased launch rhythm and landing of Starship/Super Heavy launchers will not have a significant impact on the quality of the human environment," the FAA wrote in a thick document entitled Mitigated Finding of No Significant Impact (FONSI).

The FAA also added that SpaceX no longer needs to compile a Statement of Environmental Impact every time it wants to launch Starship. Instead, the agency will issue FONSI and ROD independently.
This is an important decision for SpaceX, especially for the future of Starship. So far, Starship has been launched eight times and two of them have been made this year. Usually, Starship launches have a fairly long gap with a minimum of one month.
However, once this license is granted, the number of Starship launches will increase drastically. To pursue 25 launches within a year, the company needs to fly Starship every two weeks.
