JAKARTA Samsung is again showing its newest technological power through a unique culinary experience in Portugal. The South Korean tech giant will open an AI-based pop-up restaurant called Sem Igual (which literally means "Without Tanding" or "Unik"), where guests can create their own dishes by simply photographing groceries using the Galaxy S25.
The restaurant will be present for only two days in two major cities: Lisbon on 8'9 May, and Porto on 16'17 May. Although it only lasts briefly, this experience is free and will certainly be the main attraction for technology and food lovers.
The concept offered by Samsung is unique and futuristic. Every guest who comes to the Sem Igual restaurant will be given the Galaxy S25 device. With the phone's camera, they can take a combination of the ingredients they choose. Everyone can choose one source of carbohydrates, one type of protein, three vegetables, and one type of sauce from a total of 25 ingredients available.
Once photographed, Galaxy AI technology will process the images and compile a unique recipe based on a combination of guest selected ingredients. The recipe was then sent directly to the kitchen, where Chef Jo totaling Dourado will process it into a real dish.
"With more than 25 ingredients to choose from, the combination of the resulting recipes can reach thousands," said Samsung Portugal in its promotional video. The video also says that this restaurant will not serve the same dish twice, as all of its recipes are uniquely generated by AI.
Although AI Galaxy can create a unique and creative recipe, the cooking process is still done by humans. Chef Jo Total Dourado who Samsung believes is an experienced figure who will ensure that the final result of the AI recipe remains delicious and worth-to-eat.

Sem Igual's initiative is Samsung's clever way of showing off the sophistication of Galaxy AI in a fun and interactive context. It's not just a matter of mobile technology, but how AI can be present in aspects of everyday life, including in creating personal and unforgettable culinary experiences.
With only four operational days in two cities, Sem Igual can be called an exclusive restaurant that will not be easily accessible to the public. However, this move shows the great potential of AI in the future, even in kitchen matters.
For those who happen to be in Portugal this May, don't miss a unique opportunity to 'snatch' your favorite food and see how AI turns it into reality.
