Telegram Will Launch Group Video Call In May 2021

JAKARTA - Telegram has begun planning to host group video calls ahead of the arrival of Eid. This feature allows its users to connect online during Eid. Even though other chat applications have already provided this service.

Soon, users will be able to gather together virtually via Telegram. This information was announced by the boss of Telegram, Pavel Durov. He scheduled that the video call feature of busy people will be launched in May.

Durov did not explain in more detail this feature, such as the number of participants who made the video call. Even though the new Telegram is quite late in launching group video call calls, this feature in Telegram seems to be present fresher than the group video call features in other messaging applications.

This was expressed by Durov in a GIF image format. When a video call is made in portrait mode, the group video call participant's view will continue from top to bottom accompanied by a list of users and several buttons to control the meeting.

If the group video call is carried out in Landscapes mode, the control button will disappear automatically. The user will be on the left, and the other participants will be on the right.

Telegram will also provide other features such as noise cancellation to reduce noise around users, screen sharing, and end-to-end encryption. Not only that but the group video call feature can also be used via a computer or tablet.

"All the advanced features in the video teleconferencing application will be enjoyed with Telegram's display, speed, and security system", said Durov in his official statement.

Launching Android Authority on Thursday, April 29, the pandemic situation prompted Durov and colleagues to add a group video calling feature to Telegram.
