JAKARTA OpenAI is fixing a 'erotic' bug in ChatGPT. This bug makes ChatGPT produce erotic content to users who are registered as minors or under 18 years of age.
Based on the results of TechCrunch testing, this bug also causes ChatGPT to act strangely, which is to encourage users to request more explicit sensual content. This bug has been confirmed directly by OpenAI.
The company insists that an explicit response to underage users is not in accordance with their policies. OpenAI strives to address responses that deviate from this policy, especially from users who still need parental monitoring.
Because, OpenAI says that they are fixing bugs that mislead ChatGPT's response. These improvements will make ChatGPT more limited in producing or sharing graphics or explicit content.
"Protecting younger users is a top priority," said an OpenAI spokesperson. "In this case, a bug allows response beyond those guidelines, and we are actively implementing improvements to limit this generation."
The bug that prompted this explicit response was discovered after TechCrunch conducted research on dozens of ChatGPT accounts aged 13 to 17 years. This research is based on OpenAI's desire to develop a 'adult mode' ChatGPT.
