JAKARTA Apple CEO Tim Cook continued his visit to China by visiting Zhejiang University. On campus he announced a donation of US$4.1 million (Rp68 billion) to support the iOS developer education program.

After previously expanding the China Clean Energy Fund and providing assistance for education in rural areas, Apple is now launching the Apple Mobile Application Incubation Fund. The fund was founded in collaboration with Zhejiang University, which is known as Liang Wenfeng's learning ground, founder of DeepSek AI technology.

According to ChosunBiz's report, Cook surprised students by attending the 10-year Celebration of the Mobile Application Innovation Competition at the university. Apple has supported this competition from the start, with total contributions reaching US$6.9 million (Rp114.4 billion).

In his statement, Tim Cook expressed his pride for the decade-long collaboration with Zhejiang University.

"We are honored to deepen our 10-year partnership with Zhejiang University, providing technology support for the next generation of developers, helping them create innovative and growing applications in the world of entrepreneurship," Cook said, quoted by VOI from Apple Insider.

Apple also stated on its official website in China that the new fund will be used to create professional courses, seminars, and guidance programs. The focus is on helping participants develop not only applications, but also their own businesses.

Secretary of the Party Committee at Zhejiang University, Ren Shaobo, added that this collaboration will be used as well as possible to improve the quality of new talents in technology and innovation.

Competition And Training For Thousands Of Participants

Since its start, the Cellular Application Innovation Competition has involved 161 universities in Greater China, and has now grown to nearly 1,000 universities with more than 30,000 participants. In fact, this competition has reached underdeveloped areas such as Gansu and Guizhou.
