JAKARTA - Russia is reportedly producing its own B450 motherboard which will be paired with AMD Ryzen CPUs. This was done by Russia because it wanted to improve the security of state data, while reducing dependence on imported products.

Through a partnership between GS Group and Philax, Russia will start producing at least 40,000 B450 motherboards and 50,000 monitors. This motherboard has even passed certification from the Russian government.

Tom's Hardware reported, this motherboard will be built with a configuration based on the AMD B450 chipset. The same design is also used on the Asrock B450M Pro4 Micro-ATX motherboard.

Given that its target market is government office and business users, this motherboard does not have a flashy display or RGB light feature set. Even though it looks like it has a m.2 slot similar to the Pro4, the mini drive is not listed as supported hardware.

This AMD B450 motherboard supports Ryzen 2000, 3000, and 5000 series processors, up to four 3200 MHz memory sticks, has two PCIe 3.0 x16 slots and one PCIe 2.0 x1 slot. Perhaps as a government certification requirement it has support for TPM (trusted platform module) for added security.

Ryzen APUs will be able to take advantage of the motherboard's D-Sub, DVI-D, or HDMI ports. Connectivity-wise, the B450 motherboard offers a PS / 2 combo port, two USB 2.0 ports, four USB 3.1 Gen1 ports, and even USB 3.1 Gen2 Type-A and Type-C ports.

In the next 18 months, GS Group will manufacture a wider variety of motherboards and desktop monitors in partnership with Philax, while exploring potential partnerships with other companies to expand their electronics portfolio.
