JAKARTA In welcoming International Women's Day, Garmin held a workshop entitled Her Health, Her Way. The workshop, which was held on Thursday, March 6, focuses on discussing women's health.
Garmin realized that his smartwatch is more in demand by men so they want to build a special community for female users. Therefore, Garmin provides a platform to discuss health and supporting technology.
"I feel that these female users do not have a community, how can we accommodate them as well," said Garmin Indonesia Senior Marketing Communication Manager Chandrawidhi Desideriani, to VOI after the event. "The woman is usually more concerned about health."
In accordance with the theme of this event, Garmin presented speakers to discuss three important topics, ranging from the menstrual cycle and its relation to the HRV (Heart Rate Variability), the period of permenopaus, and sleep problems as well as how to handle them.
From several topics discussed, Garmin provides tools to support the issue. For example, HRV, users can adjust their menstrual cycle while monitoring the variation of the heartbeat using the metric provided.
Chandrawidhi explained that this feature can be found in all Garmin devices, either at affordable prices or the most expensive. Users can also access the feature to monitor the user's sleep cycle.

That way, users can find out how long they sleep at night, whether they sleep enough, and how well they sleep. The tool that Garmin provides can even give a warning if the user has enough sleep.
"We have a sleep coach too. Everyone's sleep coach is different. He will give advice on how many hours of sleep we need," explained Chandrawidhi. "If he sleeps less, he will add (the recommended hours of sleep) to tonight because last night he slept less."
When asked if Garmin would create another feature that supports women's needs, Chandrawidhi refused to answer. He only said that Garmin would target female consumers more in the future.
"In the future, because I said that women are growing, in the future, the hours we launch will also target more women, especially hours from our lifestyle wellness collection," said Chandrawidhi.
