JAKARTA - Many countries are struggling and looking for ways to stop the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic. Even the UK-based telecommunications operator Vodafone launched an application to help prevent the corona virus.
Through the DreamLab application, The Vodafone Foundation is working with doctors and researchers at Imperial College London to research the spread of COVID-19. In fact, this application has long been launched in 2015 and is useful to help researchers treat various types of cancer.
Now DreamLab uses its collective application to analyze data on smartphone users affected by COVID-19. Through this application DreamLab can quickly recommend treatment options and medical assistance to its users.
“We really need new treatments to deal with COVID-19. There are drugs out there that might work to treat it and the best thing about reusing existing drugs, "said research leader from the Department of Surgery and Cancer at Imperial College London, Dr Kirill Veselkov as quoted by the Evening Standard.
With fast analysis capabilities, this application can provide data for scientists to process COVID-19 drug research. "We carried out a difficult and complex analysis. DreamLab created a supercomputer that allows us to do this important work in a relatively short period of time," explained Dr. Veselkov.
The more people who download the DreamLab application, the higher the chances that scientists will get the data they need. Especially for vaccine and drug research for COVID-19 patients.

The DreamLab application is already available on online stores, both Android and iOS globally. Users also do not need to use the mobile operator Vodafone to download and operate this application.
Later the DreamLab application will run automatically in the background on the cellphone. Even so, Vodafone customers in the UK don't have to worry about Wi-Fi even though they will be billed for any data costs incurred when running the DreamLab application.
This Artificial Intelligent (AI) based project is specifically looking for data that can produce drugs as well as existing food molecules. Of course it can be useful for those who suffer from infectious diseases.
This project is divided into two phases, namely the stage of identifying anti-viral drugs so that they can help COVID-19 patients. Then the second phase will optimize the combination of data based on potential treatments and nutritional advice for those suffering from the coronavirus.
After this research is complete, the researchers will conduct a series of clinical trials based on the data obtained. The results can be used by doctors to help patients recover from illness.
