JAKARTA Meta, the platform that houses Instagram and Threads, announced that it is ready to launch the Community Records feature. Chances are, this feature will be released in less than a month.

Community Records are a mock feature of its competing platform, namely X. This feature was launched to replace the fact-checking program that was stopped in early January. Using Community Records, Meta wants to check content unbiasedly.

"Immediately launched, Community Records will be a new way for our community to decide when a content is confusing or may require an additional context," Meta said via Threads, quoted on Friday, February 21.

Ahead of the launch of the feature, several provisions were shared by the company. Meta confirmed that Community Records are only available in the US for now. Users who wish to be contributors should be over 18 years old.

In addition, the account used must be more than six months old. If the contributor wants to include notes in a post, this feature only supports an additional context of 500 characters by including a source link.

Community records are not only available on Threads, but also on other Meta auspices platforms such as Instagram and Facebook. Notes left by contributors will be assessed by other contributors before being reviewed for posting.

If some contributors agree that the records left behind are helpful, the note will be uploaded by Meta. Contributors who leave a note have the right to edit or remove the Community Records they have created.
