IPhone 16e Officially Debuts, Replaces IPhone SE 4 Model

JAKARTA Apple officially launched the successor to the SE series, but with a new name. Instead of naming the iPhone SE 4, this new device was launched as the iPhone 16 lineup with the 'e' series category.

The iPhone 16e uses the A18 chipset which is claimed to provide fast and smooth performance. Despite changing its name, Apple promises affordable prices, but with features that remain sophisticated. In fact, this phone is supported by Apple Intelligence.

The iPhone 16e comes in two colors, namely black and white with an elegant face. Apple will open the pre-order iPhone 16e starting Friday, February 21 with a cellphone ready to be distributed a week later. This phone is not yet available in Indonesia.

"We are very happy that the iPhone 16e will complement the product lineup as a more sophisticated and affordable option to bring the iPhone experience to more people," said Kaiann Drance, Apple's Vice President for iPhone Product Marketing around the world.

Design and Battery Resistant Power

Apple's cheapest device in the iPhone 16 series has received IP68 certification. This means that this device is resistant to water and dust splashes. To support this resilience, the iPhone 16e uses a Ceramic Shield front cover.

With the Super Retina XDR screen supported by OLED technology, this phone comes with a size of 6.1 inches. For its lifetime, this phone lasts six hours longer than the iPhone 11 and twelve hours longer than the iPhone SE series.

IPhone 16e Camera Model

Apple is trying to improve the camera on the iPhone 16e. With the camera system 2-in-1, this device can capture images in Night mode and Portrait mode. For sharper results, Apple uses a 48MP Fusion camera.

Apple also offers a double-fold Telephoto that is equivalent to two cameras in one and is able to enlarge images with optical quality. This device features TrueDepth, making the camera more automatedally focused with a sharper close-up.

This SE series replacement will be sold for three types of storage, namely 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB. The iPhone 16e will be sold starting at a price of 599 US dollars (Rp9.7 million) and can be pre-ordered from 59 countries and regions, except in Indonesia.
