JAKARTA - During his working visit to Europe, the Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs, Meutya Hafid, emphasized Indonesia's commitment as a representative of developing countries in building global AI governance.

According to him, Indonesia will bridge the interests of developing countries with developed countries in making international AI policies.

"We want to ensure that the global AI policy not only reflects the interests of developed countries, but also takes into account the reality of developing countries such as Indonesia," Meutya said at the AI Action Summit which took place in Paris on February 9.

In addition, Meutya also stated that Indonesia will continue to support efforts to strengthen international coordination in the development of AI which is oriented towards public interests and social welfare.

According to the Minister of Trade, AI is a transformative force in the global economy, so all parties must ensure that no country is left behind in this digital revolution.

"Indonesia will continue to play an active role in global AI policy discussions to ensure safe, ethical, and inclusive AI for all," he said further.

"Indonesia's presence in this forum is not only to get seats in global discussions, but also to ensure that world AI policies reflect the interests of developing countries. AI must be managed by principles that place humans as centers of innovation," he said.
