JAKARTA Last December, Google launched a new capability called Deep Research for Gemini. This ability was originally only available for the website version, but has now been expanded to Android.

As the name implies, Deep Research is here to help users who have many long questions, especially for research purposes. This feature can understand complex reports and provide detailed search results.

Gemini also offers detailed plans. For example, when a user wants a month-long vacation in a country that has never been visited, Deep Research can be an alternative search. This chatbot will analyze many websites to answer commands.

The results of the analysis from various websites need to be seen by clicking the Start Research button. Usually, this process takes about 5 to 10 minutes to browse and view the website and carry out new searches based on what has been learned.

The Deep Research interface does not differ much from the usual search view. However, if this model is active, the file uploading feature and Gemini Live will be turned off automatically. Both features can only work if the user switches to Gemini Advanced.

Deep Research also has restrictions on daily research requests and the number of research requests it can run at the same time. Every time it approaches the specified limit, Gemini will give a notification.

Deep Research is not yet available on all devices because it is still rolling out in stages. This feature can be accessed if the user subscribes to Gemini Advanced. iOS users cannot access this feature because the application is also not yet available on the App Store.
