Gemini App Presents Phone And Message Features Without Unlocking

JAKARTA Google continues to develop basic features in the Gemini app to make it more functional as a telephone assistant. One of the latest updates allows users to make calls and send messages without having to unlock the device.

This feature can be activated via Settings > Gemini on Lock Screen with a new option titled Make calls and send messages without unlocking. Users need to enable the phone and message app on Gemini for this feature to work.

Although Gemini Extensions for Phones and Messages are not widely available, this feature can still be used with support from Google Assistant. Previously, users had to unlock their cellphones to make calls or send messages, but now calls can be made immediately even though the device is locked.

This feature is still in its gradual launch stage through a server update on the Google app version 15.48 beta. Users who want to try can force stop of the Google app and manually check updates.

With this update, Gemini is getting closer to his role as a more intuitive and efficient assistant to Android device users.
