JAKARTA - The Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs said that according to the results of monitoring, the majority of conversations about the general election of regional heads or regional elections in 2024 in the digital space are oriented neutrally.

According to data from the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs (Kemkomdigi) on October 25, 2024, as many as 75 percent of conversations about regional elections in the digital space show neutral sentiment and 19 percent of conversations have positive sentiment.

"We are grateful that so far the potential for hoax issues related to regional elections has remained under control. This shows our joint success in maintaining a healthy and responsible digital ecosystem," said Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs Meutya Hafid quoting Antara.

In order to support the implementation of simultaneous regional head elections in 2024, the Ministry of Communication and Trade monitors the circulation of hoaxes in the digital space, echoes the message of the Damai Pilkada, and encourages people to exercise their right to vote.

The Ministry of Communication and Industry has intensified the screening of public service advertisements with the main narrative of "Pilkada Damai, Symbol of National Unity" on various television, radio, and regional mass media channels.

The ministry also uses digital platforms such as TikTok and Snack Video to disseminate content aimed at educating voters, especially novice voters.

The distribution of voter educational content through digital platforms is carried out with the hashtag #PilkadaDamai keywords, #AyoMemilih Serentak, and #Pilkada Serentak2024.

The hashtags for the keywords in monitoring the Ministry of Communication and Trade have reached more than five million internet users, especially young groups from Millennials and Gen Z.

The spread of positive narratives related to the 2024 Pilkada is also carried out through online media and outdoor media such as videotron and billboards.
