Pi Network Ready To Launch Mainnet, Community Can't Wait

JAKARTA - Pi Network, a cryptocurrency project known for the concept of mobile mining, is preparing to launch a main network (mainnet) by the end of 2024. This is good news for the Pi community which is commonly called Pioneers.

According to schedule, users must complete their migration to the beta mainnet before November 30, 2024. Pi Network claims to have 60 million active members, but on-chain data shows the number of active wallets is around 6 million. Pi Network project models have succeeded in attracting public attention in various areas, especially with mobile application-based mining features.

Preparation Towards Open Mainnet

Pi Network continues to work to achieve a number of strategic targets before opening full network access. To date, more than 13 million users have passed the identity verification process (KYC), and about 6 million users have migrated to the beta mainnet. To support its ecosystem, Pi is targeting 15 million KYC users, 10 million migrations to the mainnet, and 100 applications ready for use on the main network.

The concrete move, Pi Network launched Pi App Incubator in September 2024, which aims to accelerate the development of applications in its ecosystem. In addition, the Pi Node Version 0.5.0 update in October 2024 allows nodes to support the transition to the mainnet.

To increase adoption, Pi Network held PiFest on October 29, 2024. This event prompted traders to register their stores in the "PiOS" application, making it easier for users to transact using the Pi coin.
