JAKARTA - Recently, the Ministry of Communication and Digital met with IT practitioners, namely the Chairman of CISSReC, Pratama Persadha, and cybersecurity consultant Alfons Tanujaya.
In a post on the official Instagram account of the Ministry of Komdigi @kemkomdigi, the meeting with the practitioner discussed steps in eradicating online gambling in Indonesia.
In his confession, Alfons said that his meeting with Komdigi was to provide several proposals related to improvements in the monitoring system for blocking content and online gambling sites internally and externally by Komdigi.
"Decided online gambling is the task force, it's a big job. The problem is the kingpins task force. Why the club? Because there are Kominfo people (or now Komdigi who are supposed to protect the community, instead they protect them and not to be blocked, right, that's crazy," Alfons told VOI when contacted on Tuesday, November 5.
Alfons said some of the suggested solutions were for the Komdigi's internal control system to be improved, ranging from evaluating user access to the crane to a log review to tracking down who has access rights and who is responsible if any gambling sites are not blocked.
At this stage, IT practitioners also proposed that further investigation be carried out by the Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Center (PPATK) to ensure that there is no abuse of authority.
"So the internal control system of the Komdigi crab machine is evaluated by the users who have access rights, who misuses it," he explained.

As for external improvements, Alfons suggested transparency of data on sites that had been blocked. According to him, currently, Komdigi does not share which sites have been detected providing online gambling services, and which sites have been blocked.
This transparency is expected to provide a list of blocked sites and their blocking times, so that people can check independently.
"Yes, the people of IT yes (which helps monitor the blocking of content and online gambling sites). For example APJII, PANDI, and organizations. Everyone will definitely care. Not the general public who don't know or anything like that," he said.
