JAKARTA - Google is starting to launch a new integration for Gemini, including the Google Home function now available in the Public Preview version. Users listed on Public Preview for Google Home on Android will see this feature in the Gemini app, and this launch will be carried out in stages over the next few weeks.

With this update, users can ask Gemini to control their smart home device using natural language. This function allows users to activate various features such as adjusting lighting or running an automatic device, without having to call Google Assistant.

Google explains that users can provide simple commands such as sun too bright in the living room to automatically close the window curtain, or help clean the kitchen' to activate the dust suction robot.

To try this feature, open the Google Home application on your Android device, select Settings, then follow the steps to register with the Public Preview. After registering, you can use Google Home extension in the Gemini app.

However, there are some limitations. Currently, this feature is only available on Android devices and supports commands in English. Additionally, Gemini can't control security devices such as gates, cameras, door locks, and garage doors. Devices that don't support Gemini, such as Nest speakers and smart screens, will still use Google Assistant.

This feature shows Gemini's progress in replacing Google Assistant, offering new and more intuitive ways for users to manage their smart homes.
