IPhone 17 And IPhone 17 Slim Predicted To Get ProMotion Features

Rumors about the presence of the ProMotion feature on the iPhone 17 and Slim 17 are getting stronger again. This high refresh rate feature, which was previously only available on Pro-class iPhone models, is rumored to be extending to more models in the upcoming series.

According to industry source ETNews on Sunday, November 3, Apple is preparing to use a low-temperature polycrystalline oxide (LTPO) panel for all four iPhone 17, including the iPhone 17 and the iPhone 17 Slim, in addition to the other two Pro models.

LTPO technology allows the screen to operate at various refresh rates, both high and low, with more efficient power consumption. LTPO also supports the always-on display features used on the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max.

Although ETNews is not always accurate in predicting future Apple products, this report reinforces growing rumors about the possibility of ProMotion coming to all iPhone models. Predictions regarding ProMotion expansion have also appeared in reports in July and September.

In addition, there are other rumors related to LTPO, where changes to LTPO technology on the Apple Watch Series 10 can bring a shift in similar technologies to the iPhone screen in the future.

Using the third generation LTPO (LTPO3), power efficiency can be further enhanced, and there is a potential for a ProMotion refresh rate to develop to 240Hz, higher than the current 120Hz.
