Cloudflare launched Audit AI, a set of tools that can help any website to analyze and control how their content is used by artificial intelligence (AI) models.

With this tool, Cloudflare is trying to help provide content creators control over their content that AI bots might access without their knowledge and permission, or even without compensation.

"AI will drastically change online content. Content creators and website owners of all sizes are entitled to own and control their content," said Matthew Prince, co-founder and CEO of Cloudflare in a written statement.

AI audits will allow websites to control AI bot access automatically, look at the analytics of how bots access their content, protect their rights when negotiating with AI model providers, and in the future could set reasonable prices for content usage by AI companies.

Through this tool, Cloudflare aims to create a transparent exchange between websites that want to control AI model content and providers that require new data, so that all parties benefit.

Matthew also emphasized that this step is very important so that the quality of online information does not decrease or lock behind paywall.

With its global scale and infrastructure, Cloudflare believes it can provide tools and standards for websites and content creators to take fair control and compensation for their contributions on the internet.

"We believe in our ability to provide tools and set standards for websites, publishers, and content creators to be able to provide fair control and compensation for their contribution to the internet, while still enabling AI model providers to innovate," said Matthew.
