JAKARTA - According to the latest bulletin from Mark Gurman, Power On, Siri, which is fully rebuilt with Apple Intelligence, may be released to users sooner than expected. While not all features will be available at once, some of Siri's new features could have been released earlier.

Gurman revealed some additional details regarding the timeline release of the Apple Intelligence feature, including interesting information that some of Siri's new features may be released on iOS 18.3, not on iOS 18.4 as previously predicted.

"The biggest iOS update after iOS 18.1 is iOS 18.4, which will include many of Siri's new features (some features being considered for release on iOS 18.3)," Gurman said.

This means users may be able to start seeing Siri's experience that has been overhauled since January, as usually a version of x.3 iOS was released that month, earlier than the forecast release in March.

Updating For The Coming IOS 18

Gurman also provided details regarding the development timeline and other iOS 18 update release dates:

As a reminder, iOS 18.1 will bring the first batch of Apple Intelligence, including minor updates to Siri (new interfaces, faster responses), Writing Tools, Photos Clean Up, and Notification Summaries. After that, iOS 18.2 is expected to bring the Image Playground, Genmoji features, as well as integration with ChatGPT. A new fully new Siri is expected to be released in early 2025.

Apple first introduced the new Siri to WWDC24 in June, and is expected to present a number of big features. The new Siri will be better at understanding speech errors, can integrate with other applications, have an understanding of context, and be able to "see" what's on the user screen. All of these features are expected to make Siri more effective as a personal assistant.

Interestingly, Apple seems to be trying to speed up the timeline for Siri's new release. Chances are, Apple realizes that they have marketed the iPhone 16 lineup with features that are not yet fully available, so they want to immediately introduce a new Siri to users as soon as possible.
