JAKARTA - The technology giant Microsoft is holding an IDR 432 million prize program called a bug bounty for people who can find security system loopholes in the Teams service. A prize of that size can certainly attract bug hunters.

The bug bounty program reportedly originated from the Microsoft Security Response Center (MSRC). The goal is to find out problems from the security system that exists in the Microsoft Teams service.

MSRC Program Manager, Lynn Miyashita revealed that the prize offer was announced through the Microsoft Applications Bounty Program as an effort to maintain the security system of the Microsoft Teams application.

A requirement for bug finders is that they must be able to demonstrate this vulnerability so that it impacts the security of users of the desktop version of Microsoft Teams.

“We (Microsoft) and security researchers around the world continue to partner to prioritize the security of our customers. We also collaborate with them especially regarding the technology we use”, said Miyashita.

For information, the Microsoft Teams service is a video-conferencing application that is part of Office 365. This online teleconferencing service can be used for events or activities that are held remotely including learning activities, meetings, and so on.

Not only that, but Microsoft Teams users can also share documents and can serve as a means to do real-time tasks.

Launching Tech Radar, later Microsoft will include other applications in this bug bounty program. Although currently only the Microsoft Teams application has been included in the program to detect vulnerabilities in its security.
