GoPro Confirms Launch Of Hero And Hero 13 Black On September 4

JAKARTA - GoPro has officially confirmed the launch date of the latest generation of their action cameras after a series of leaks. The teaser video posted on the company's X/Twitter account reveals that September 4, 2024 is a big day for the launch of the two newest Hero models.

This confirmation comes at the same time as the leaked hands-on video from tipster Igor Bogdanov, who gave an initial look at the design of GoPro Hero 13 Black.

The video shows the front screen with branding 13 BLACK while this action camera has a familiar Power/Mode button next to the camera sensor and heatsink.

In terms of specifications, leaks show that Hero 13 Black will retain the same 27MP sensor as its predecessor. Video recording capabilities will likely remain the same, with a resolution of 5.3K at 60 FPS and 4K at 120 FPS. It is also hoped that it will also carry the HyperSmooth 6.0 image stabilization feature and HDR from Hero 12 Black.

The biggest increase this year appears to be a larger battery, which is 1,900 mAh, replacing a 1.720 mAh unit on Hero 12 Black. In addition, GoPro is likely to expand the reach of their action camera accessories with macro and ultra-wide lens attachments, as well as Floaty and protective accessories.

The second GoPro camera remains more mysterious. This camera is most likely the successor to GoPro 11 Mini, and rumors say that this camera will offer HyperSmooth stabilization and slow-motion video recording.

With the official launch date just two days away, we will soon get more detailed information about the two Hero action cameras. However, whether September 4 will be the actual release date or just an introduction, it still needs to be seen.
