Unique! Researchers In Mexico Create Special Nose COVID-19 Masks

JAKARTA - Researchers in Mexico designed a unique COVID mask that only covers the nose. This allows users to stay active while eating or talking without being obstructed by a mask.

Reported by CBS News, this unique mask completely covers the nose area only. Its use is the same as masks in general.

Even though it looks ridiculous, in fact this idea can provide extra protection for the sense of smell which has been the entrance to the corona virus. So wearing a mask is the best choice to reduce the spread of COVID-19.

The World Health Organization (WHO) also recommends that people wear masks that cover their nose, mouth and chin to protect themselves from exposure to the virus.

In addition, the use of cloth masks is also part of the health protocol that the public must follow in reducing the spread of COVID-19. Experts also suggest it is important to wear a mask when outdoors.

"As we progressed during this pandemic, we realized that not all masks are the same," said University of Washington Department of Environmental & Occupational Health Sciences professor Dr Martin Cohen.

The ideal face mask blocks large respiratory droplets from coughing or sneezing - the main method of spreading the coronavirus from one person to another - along with the smaller airborne particles, called aerosols, produced when people speak or exhale.
