Deputy Minister Of Communication And Information Ensures Internet Network Readiness At IKN Ahead Of The 79th Indonesian Independence Day Ceremony

JAKARTA - Ahead of the commemoration of the 79th Indonesian Independence Day which will be held on August 17 in the capital city of Nusantara (IKN), Deputy Minister of Communication and Information, Nezar Patria, said the readiness of the telecommunications network at IKN.

According to Nezar, until now the government and related parties are still making improvements and monitoring of the network that will be available at IKN during the RI Anniversary ceremony later.

"Good, we are continuing to improve electricity, telecommunications networks and all support systems to succeed in the celebration of August 17 at IKN," said Nezar after the opening of the Indonesia Internet Expo and Summit (IIXS) 2024 event in Jakarta on Monday, August 12.

Not only that, all telecommunications service provider companies in Indonesia including Telkomsel, XL Axiata, Smartfren, and Indosat Ooredoo Hutchison have also prepared 5G networks around the IKN area.

CEO of PT Smartfren Telco, Merza Facchys, also ensures that Smartfren's internet network goes well. Where, he said, Smartfren will prepare a 5G network for the local community.

"IKN is walking, it will be a ceremony soon, right? Yes 5G (network)," said Merza at the same event.

Meanwhile, PT XL Axiata Tbk (XL Axiata) also continues to improve network quality in the area. Moreover, XL also improves network quality at infrastructure development points and supporting facilities for IKN such as toll roads, airports, hospitals, hotels, and other supporting facilities in collaboration with the IKN Authority.
