JAKARTA - Microsoft in its latest blog announced it has removed all ads from Skype channels and all Skype platforms, including at the main chat interface.

We are excited to announce that Skype is now ad-free! Our latest update removes all ads from Skype's channel and all Skype platforms, ensuring a smoother, neater, and more enjoyable user experience," the company wrote in its announcement found by Engadget.

With the removal of these ads, the tech giant hopes that all users can communicate without interruption on all Skype channels. So they can focus on the chat.

"We prioritize your input to create a slimmer and fun environment on all platforms," Microsoft added.

Skypen updates also include a new AI image creation tool, which allows people to access imagers from chat windows or the upper bar.

In addition, Skype also brings integration with the OneAuth authentication to the iOS application. This integration was already on Android, and has now been extended to iOS.

OneAuth replaces the old entry system, so users will log in automatically if they have entered other Microsoft apps such as Teams.

Updates are available to everyone registered in the Skype Insider Program via version 8.125, so register yourself if you haven't registered yet.

This service started rolling out today but will take several days to reach each user. Microsoft urges consumers to continue checking existing updates.
