JAKARTA - After almost eight years, the Director General of Informatics Applications at the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, Samuel Abrijani Pangerapan officially resigned from his position.
"This is my time to separate. I declare that as of July 1, I have submitted my resignation (resign) to the Minister of Communication and Information," said the man who is familiarly called Semmy at his press conference Thursday, June 4 at the Kominfo Office, Jakarta.
Semmy said that the reason for his resignation was one form of responsibility for the ransomware incident at the Temporary National Data Center (PDNS) 2, which shocked the Indonesian people for the past few days.
"First, the reason is, this incident is technically my responsibility as Director General of Trustees in the process of government transformation," said Semmy to the media crew.
"So I take this responsibility morally, and I say it should be finished with me. Because this is a problem that I should handle well," he continued.
