JAKARTA - Adult content companies Pornhub, Stripchat, and XVideos must conduct risk assessment reports and take steps to address systemic risks associated with their services. This must be done to comply with EU's new online content regulations, as announced by the European Commission on Friday, April 19.

The three companies were designated as very large online platforms in December 2023 under the Digital Services Act (DSA). The law requires them to make more efforts to remove illegal and harmful content on their platforms.

Pornhub and Stripchat must comply with these DSA obligations, among them the strictest, on April 21st and XVideos on April 23, EU executives said.

"This special obligation includes submitting risk assessment reports to the Commission, implementing mitigation measures to address systemic risks associated with the provision of their services," the statement said.

The companies must also fulfill additional transparency obligations, including those related to advertising, and provide access to data for researchers.

The companies face a 6% risk of fines from their global annual turnover if they violate DSA.
