JAKARTA - TikTok announced the expansion of science-based STEM feeds on its apps to users in Europe, after previously this feature was first launched in the United States in March last year.

"Starting in the UK and Ireland today, and across Europe in the coming weeks, users will be able to click on the STEM feed, along with the For You feed, to open up the world of knowledge from leading experts in their fields," the company wrote in its announcement for the first time.

The new STEM feed will include English-language content with automatic translation, which in fact will be examined by two independent organizations.

The organization is Common Sense Networks and the Poynter Institute. Common Sense Networks will assess all content to ensure the content is suitable for the STEM feed, and Poynter will assess the reliability of the information presented.

If the content does not pass the two checkpoints, then the content does not meet the requirements to enter the STEM feed.

With the STEM feed, users can explore a variety of inspiring, entertaining videos, while enriching their knowledge of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.

"Whether encouraging prospective scientists to conduct experiments in the comments section or helping new programmers learn coding, the STEM feed provides space for mutual learning, inspiration, and enrichment," he concluded.
