Instagram And Facebook Experience Downtime On Tuesday Night, Users Wait For Confirmation From Meta

JAKARTA - On Tuesday, March 5 evening, popular social media platforms, Instagram and Facebook, reportedly experienced significant service disruptions. Complaints from users began to appear around 22.07 WIB, with many reports of problems on downdetector.id sites.

Downdetector, a platform that monitors user complaints regarding downtime websites and apps, noted a major spike in Instagram-related problem reports at that time. There are 8894 IG reports down on the site. Users report difficulty accessing homes, uploading content, and even communicating via direct message.

Meanwhile, the Downdetector website also noted that there were 7,676 reports down since 22.11 WIB. However, when VOI opened Facebook at 23.45 it was no longer a problem.

Until this news was published, there has been no official confirmation from Meta, the parent company of Instagram, regarding the cause of the disruption to the service. Uneasy users are looking for answers from the company through social media and other platforms, such as spilling it on platform X, Twitter.

Some users even voice concerns about their data and privacy security during the downtime period. While there is no information yet to confirm whether there is a security breach linked to this issue, the anxiety is becoming higher due to the absence of official confirmation from Meta.
