New App Store Policy Considered Harmful, Epic Games Complains Apple To Court

JAKARTA The fierce battle between Epic Games and Apple should have been over. The reason is, the Supreme Court has decided that Apple must relax its anti-monopoly policy on the App Store.

However, Epic Games feels that the new App Store policy is not in accordance with legal decisions. The tech company allows the sale of apps on third parties, European-only, but still charges a commission of 27 percent.

With Apple's policy making it increasingly difficult for developers, Epic said that the company had very bad faith. In fact, Epic considers that Apple has no intention of complying with the Supreme Court's decision.

"Sweeney shows that Apple's solution is "anti-competitive" because developers can't offer cheaper digital goods on the web after having to pay for Apple and other platforms," Epic's representative told9to5mac.

The unnamed resource person added that Epic Games CEO Timek was strongly opposed to Apple's new policy. Therefore, Epic has filed an official complaint with the court.

In fact, the decision of the Supreme Court cannot be denied. However, Epic Games only wants to submit a report showing that Apple does not comply with Mahkama Agung's decision so that the court can take action.

Epic and his attorney filed a complaint with the court on Tuesday, January 30. In the complaint, Epic emphasized that Apple did not comply with court orders properly despite allowing payments from outside the App Store.
