Google Introduces Fast Pair For Google TV At CES 2024

JAKARTA At the opening of the 2024 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) some time ago, Google announced that it would add Fast Pair capabilities on Google TV.

Fast Pair is a system to pair or start the device quickly using automatic detection. By adding this feature to Google TV, the device can be directly connected to an audio device equipped with Bluetooth.

Google says that Fast Pair will roll out to Google TV devices with Chromecast support next month. The system will expand to more Google TV devices by the end of this year.

Before the Fast Pair feature was launched, Google TV could connect to the phone, earphone, or other audio devices with Bluetooth. However, this method doesn't always work because it depends on the device used.

The installation of audio devices is not running quickly. Users need to turn on Bluetooth first, filter, and ensure that their device is connected. This method is considered inefficient.

Android Ecosystem Vice President Totaling Samat said in an official statement that Fast Pair support will address the complex downstreaming problem. Once the audio devices are ready to connect, Google TV will be directly connected to a single tap.

This Fast Pair system shows that Google TV devices can be directly connected to audio devices without the need to enter Full Settings. In addition, outputaudio controls will make it easier for users to switch to built-in TV audio.
