Ballie, Samsung's Mungil Robot To Monitor Pets And Homes

JAKARTA Samsung introduced Ballie, a petite robot based on Artificial Intelligence (AI), at the 2024 Consumer Electronics Show (CES). This robot is an upgrade from the 2020 version.

Four years ago, Samsung introduced an AI home companion robot the size of a tennis ball. This yellow robot can move around the house to monitor people and objects, but the design doesn't indicate that Ballie is a robot.

After several years of development, Ballie has now had many improvements. The appearance of this robot has also changed a lot, including its size. The only physical appearance that hasn't changed is its flashy yellow color.

Samsung has changed the size of the Ballie, from the size of a tennis ball to the size of akah. In addition to its changing size, the task of this robot has also changed. If previously Ballie was only able to monitor the house, now the robot can become a friend at home.

With the internal projector added by Samsung, this robot can provide the requested entertainment, such as showing movies or face-to-face calls from connected devices. The screen of this projector can be enlarged and minimized.

Ballie can also be used as a pet monitoring robot. This robot will report the condition of animals at home, play with these animals, and provide food if the container is a technological tool that is able to connect with Ballie.

This robot can be connected to all smart devices at home. If asked to do something, Ballie will do it. Basically, this robot is like a smart home hub or a device that controls all smart technology at home.

Although it seems that Samsung is ready for the launch of this technology, the company still has to monitor the development of Ballie. The plan, this robot will be sold by the end of 2024.
