Samsung Showcases World's First Transparent Micro LED Screen

JAKARTA Samsung showed a new breakthrough at the 2024 Consumer Electronics Show (CES). At the event, Samsung showed off the world's first transparent Micro LED screen.

The technology on display has three different designs. These two designs from Micro LED display more colorful glass so that the object behind the screen is not so visible. Meanwhile, one other unit is more transparent and glass-like.

If you look at the last unit that doesn't have a frame, the transparent screen on display via Samsung's YouTube looks so beautiful. The reason is, the screen thickness of the technology only reaches one centimeter.

Thanks to its thin screen, this broadcast from Micro LED looks very interesting. When you stand at the front of the screen, you will see a show that looks like a hologram floating in the air because of its very transparent glass.

Samsung says that this technology is equipped with a very small chip and a precision manufacturing process capable of eliminating light refraction. Therefore, broadcasts from the screen will not be affected by the surrounding light.

"This allows MICRO LED to be transparent in producing clear and unobstructed images for various cases of use in the home and neighborhood of B2B," explained Samsung in an official statement on Monday, January 8.

Although it seems that MICRO LED is transparent, research and development for this technology took years. Samsung is trying to add direct CHIPPLED to the glass to reduce the loss of luminosity.

In addition, a modular design of technology is made so that users can personalize the shape, size, and ratio according to any room. The price of this transparent screen is not yet known, but the price of Samsung's non-transparent Micro LED is valued at IDR 2.3 billion.
