JAKARTA The messaging application is getting more and more lively. Google doesn't want to be left behind by creating Google Messages that can replace short messages service (SMS), even now it can be done with dual SIM. What are the advantages and weaknesses to use this service. Check out the following reviews.

Since its launch in 2014, Google Messages can only be used for one number or one SIM card. In fact, not a few smartphone users use dual SIM and require RCS support in both numbers.

Google has never explained why they never added dual SIM support, but they wrote inside Google's Help Center that support for dual or multi SIM may be available at a later date.

Apparently, Google has started to think about the importance of dual or multi SIM support. Recently, 9to5google found that Google was preparing for the support. This update can be seen from the beta experimental program in the 20240102_00_RC01 version.

In the version, you can see several logs to enable send and receive RCS messages at the new SIM, disable RCS chats for all SIMs, enable RCS chats for all SIMs, and much more.

RCS support for more than one number will be seen automatically on a smartphone that has dual SIM. Later, RCS users only need to open Settings, then open RCS Chat to activate other numbers.

For now, Google has not activated the server side element for dual or multi SIM support. Google is still developing this capability and it is not yet predictable when this capability will be added to Google Messages.
