JAKARTA - The adventures of Pikachu and various types of cute Pokemon are now available in various types of games. Starting from offline card games, to mobile games that invite you to catch Pokemon in the real world.

In the middle of last year, Pokemon Company expressed its desire to launch a MOBA type game. Titled Pokemon Unite, it is a spinoff version of the Pokemon franchise that has a similar gameplay to League of Legends.

After several months of no news, the company finally shared the latest information regarding this brand-new MOBA game. Yesterday, Tuesday, February 16, Pokemon Company announced that it will begin the Regional Beta trial phase in Canada.

According to the company's plans, beta trials will begin next month. For the time being, the trial process is only for Android phone users.

The Pokemon Unite game was first introduced in a presentation titled Pokemon Present in June 2020. At that time, the company explained that Pokemon Unite would come with MOBA gameplay, which stands for Multiplayer Online Battle Arena.

Pokemon Company took TiMi Studios as a game developer. As additional information, TiMi Studios is a subsidiary of Tencent which also develops Call of Duty: Mobile and Honor of Kings games.

Like other MOBA games, such as League of Legends: Wild Rift, the Pokemon Unite game brings together two teams of five players. The two teams face each other with the aim of controlling the opponent's base.

Of course, players can find various mechanisms that are generally found in MOBA games. Such as turrets, jungle, economic mechanisms, teamwork, and various types of Pokemon that have been adjusted based on abilities, how to play, and item combinations.

2021 is a big year for Pokemon. Welcoming the age of 25, the company offers many attractive products and offers. Starting from the collaboration between Pokemon and Nintendo, to the launch of a sequel titled Pokemon Snap - which will be available for Nintendo consoles on April 30.
