JAKARTA - YouTube is starting to test features that use Artificial Intelligence (AI) to create video summarys, which will appear on search and viewing pages.

According to the company, a brief summary of this video can make users decide whether the video is suitable for them to watch.

However, this summary will not replace the description created by the creator's content, and it could be better than the automatic summary made by AI.

"While we hope this summary is useful and gives you a brief overview of the content of the video, this summary does not replace the description of the video (written by content creators)," YouTube said on its official website, quoted Wednesday, August 2.

Unfortunately, this experimental feature has only been tested into several videos in English and limited users. YouTube expects feedback from users about the feature.

According to Android Police, in recent weeks, YouTube has provided users with a preview feature before it officially launches.

For example, in premium subscribers, they can lock the screen during playback to prevent accidental commands.

They also have the option to turn Shorts comments into really new short clips. Last month, YouTube announced an AI voice selection feature where users can hear videos in their native language.
