JAKARTA - A recent global survey by Kaspersky revealed that there are gaps related to those normally tasked with maintenance and purchasing smart devices at home.
In particular, 72 percent of men are those who install smart devices in their homes, while women only have a percentage of 47 percent.
According to digital market research, the number of occupancy with active smart housing devices is estimated at 573.7 million users by 2026. Domestic penetration is estimated at 25.0 percent that year.
Kaspersky survey results also show that men take care of their family's smart devices more often. When a Wi-Fi setting needs to be changed to a new home or device router added to the network, this work is mostly done by men (75 percent), while only 50 percent of women do this task.
The situation is almost the same when installing software and apps on computers, as many as 72 percent of men are responsible for this task, while women are only 47 percent.
Unlike the survey above, when related to children's digital habits, the data shows that both parents are both willing to control their children's time on their smartphones. In particular, 67 percent of men and 54 percent of women monitor the time their little one spends on their cellphones.
